Anne Renahan is a photographer, publisher and PhD candidate in the School of Art History,
University of St Andrews. Her PhD research explores the representation of modern and
contemporary landscape in the northern islands of Orkney and Shetland, the Faroes, Iceland
and Greenland, in relation to women, marginalised artists, periphery, place and ecological
perspectives. Her practice investigates landscape as a site of human and non-human memory, exploring photography’s potential to shape understandings of the passage of time. Her publishing focuses on art and design in south-east and east Asia.
